Image Comics with a monthly series, Frontline, features rotating writers and artists telling stories set in different periods of the Joes' history. The series ran for 18 issues and ended in 2003.
 
The captured Chuckles is given to Tyler Wingfield by the Baroness & Zandar in return Wingfield's debts with Cobra are cleared. In Paris, Wingfield, with Chuckles aboard, holds a plane ransom and demands 25 million and his mother Sheri Wingfield brought to him and then he will release Chuckles. Once Sheri and the money are brought to him by Flint and his team of Joes, the exchange happens and the plane takes off. On the airplane, Sheri shoots her son, and they jump out of the plane with a parachute together.
