Fighter pilots tend to be a superstitious lot. Many carry mascots and other lucky charms into battle as insurance against misfortune. Pilot Officer Terry Cooke was just such a man. He reckoned that the medallion he wore around his neck was just the ticket when it came to getting him out of trouble. The only drawback was that it seemed to get him into very tight corners in the first place!
