Action was the official journal of the National Emergency Services (NES). The journal was a non-commercial publication published between 1942 and 1944. The journal intended to provide general information regarding NES services and matters.
 
The contents of the journals begin with a message from the State Minister, followed by articles relating to individuals of the National Emergency Services, news of the War, advice to civilians, and advertisements. The first journal published stated that the intention was for the journal to be published monthly; however, as the War progressed and paper rationing became more stringent, the number of issues and the distribution became sporadic.
